Developing and Managing affordable rural homes and sustaining rural communities is at the heart of our ethos

Eden is an established Housing Association providing over 1,600 homes for affordable rental in Cumbria as well as shared ownership sale. Eden Housing Association (EHA) began in 1997 with the voluntary transfer of Eden District Council's housing stock. Since then we have grown and now provide accommodation in the Allerdale, Carlisle and Eden districts as well as managing the Mitre Housing Association portfolio in Cumbria on their behalf.

Since 1997, we we have developed over 380 affordable homes for rental and low cost ownership through new build, conversion and acquisition. Our aim is to provide a minimum of 50 new homes per annum. We provide a range of accommodation and services to meet the needs of the community – for young single people, couples, families and older persons as well as the homeless and those needing specialist support.

Supporting the sustainability of rural communities is very much at the heart of our ethos and we are committed to resident involvement with continuing expansion of our community development activities. We work closely with a range of partners to achieve this. We very much welcome approaches from partners, businesses, landowners and anyone else who wishes to help us achieve our objectives.
