Community Alarms

Community Alarm Service

People want the choice to be able to stay in their own home. The community alarm service provides reassurance and peace of mind that help is on hand in an emergency. It enables people to maintain an independent lifestyle in a safe and secure environment.

We work in partnership with Carlisle Housing Association to provide our community alarm service. They provide experienced control centre staff 24 hours a day to deal with your calls. You will also receive at least a quarterly visit by a member of our Supported Housing Team who will be on hand to help with advice and support on issues ranging from dealing with other agencies to testing your alarm.

The Supported Housing Officers also work with each individual to provide the level of support that is mutually agreed.

How does the alarm work?

You will be provided with a small alarm pendant that you carry with you. It has a red button and when you press it, a signal is sent to your alarm unit. The unit can receive a signal from your pendant wherever you are in the house or garden.

When you press your pendant’s red button the unit automatically calls the control centre where experienced operators then assess the situation and call your named contact.
