Decent Homes Plus
Following on from the successful completion of the Decent Homes Programme in 2010, we have now started planning a new programme of works for 2011/12 and beyond. In consultation with residents, we have developed a new Decent Home Plus standard which will build on the standards already achieved as part of Decent Homes. As part of our local offer to our tenants, we are calling this the Eden Standard.
The Eden Standard ensures that your home is maintained and improved above the minimum standard set by the Government.
Under Decent Homes Plus, we will prioritise individual properties according to the age of its kitchen and bathroom and its remaining anticipated life. For example, for this year's bathroom and kitchen refurbishment programmes we will use the following age criteria to identify the properties that need improvement:-
- A kitchen is deemed eligible if it is assessed as 20 years old (or older) and has a remaining life of less than 3 years. The current government standard is 30 years.
- A bathroom is deemed eligible if it is assessed as being 30 years old (or older). The current government standard is 40 years.
We aim to deliver the full Decent Homes Plus standard by 2015. We will continue to assess properties to ensure that necessary improvements are made.
If you have any questions in relation to the above you can make your enquires by contacting the Asset Management team on 01768 861400.
